Open-water sites are selected based on conditions and instructor discretion, with training taking place at Hol Chan or suitable local Belize Barrier Reef sites.

Your two open-water dives give you the opportunity to demonstrate the skills developed during confined-water training in a real reef environment.
The final dive sites are selected according to weather, sea conditions and instructor discretion so the training environment is appropriate for the course.
PADI Scuba Diver requirements
Students must be at least 10 years old to begin the course.
Required scuba theory is completed as part of the certification process.
Required skills are practiced before students progress to open water.
Students complete two instructor-led certification dives.

PADI Scuba Diver is a limited certification.
After certification, PADI Scuba Divers can participate in recreational scuba dives to a maximum depth of 40 ft / 12 m while under the direct supervision of a PADI professional.
That makes it a useful option for people with limited training time who expect to continue diving with professional supervision.
