Your Discover Scuba experience
The experience is designed to introduce scuba gradually. You'll begin in a controlled pool environment before moving into open water with your instructor.
Pool Training
Get comfortable with your scuba equipment and practice the basic underwater skills you'll use before heading to the reef.
Dive Hol Chan
Put your new skills into practice during a supervised open-water scuba dive at Hol Chan Marine Reserve.
Snorkel Shark Ray Alley
After your dive, continue to Shark Ray Alley for a guided snorkeling experience before returning to San Pedro.
Your first Belize underwater adventure
After building confidence in the pool, the experience moves out to two of Ambergris Caye's best-known marine areas.
Morning or afternoon Discover Scuba
Discover Scuba Diving is offered as a half-day experience with both morning and afternoon scheduling.
Begin at 8:00 AM and finish at approximately 11:30 AM.
Begin at 1:00 PM and finish at approximately 4:40 PM.
There is no minimum number of participants required for the Discover Scuba experience.
Discover Scuba requirements
Discover Scuba is designed for beginners who are not yet certified.
Participants must be at least 10 years old.
The open-water portion is limited to a maximum depth of approximately 40 feet / 12 meters.
Participants complete the introductory pool session before heading to open water.

Discover Scuba is an experience, not a certification.
Discover Scuba Diving lets you experience scuba under instructor supervision, but completing DSD does not make you a certified scuba diver.
